Gunshots were fired in the vicinity of the US embassy in Sarajevo on Friday, Bosnian national radio reported, adding that the apparent gunman was killed.

Embassy spokeswoman Sanja Pejcinovic would not confirm the report, but told AFP: "We can confirm there has been an incident in front of the embassy. The building is closed and we are waiting for the police to seal off the area."
