Leftist ex-military man Ollanta Humala has claimed victory in Peru's tightly-contested presidential runoff, after official results gave him a slight lead over right-wing rival Keiko Fujimori.

"We have won the presidential elections," Humala told journalists before heading to celebrate with his supporters in central Lima, ahead of a complete count of official results.
