A Spanish court has approved the extradition of the Argentinian pilot Julio Alberto Poch to Argentina.
Julio Poch, who for several years worked for Dutch airline Transavia, is suspected of involvement in the so-called death flights during the rule of the Argentinian military junta. During these flights, opponents of the regime were thrown out of aircraft above the Atlantic Ocean.
The pilot was arrested in Spain in September, and Madrid approved his extradition in October. Julio Poch appealed against the decision, but announced last week he would no longer fight his extradition. However, he still denies any involvement in the death flights.
