The Republic of Seychelles has ratified the Rome Statute on Tuesday, thus becoming the 112th nation to recognize the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The Rome Statute is the founding treaty of the ICC.
"The Statute will enter into force in the Seychelles on November 1, 2010, bringing the total number of State parties to the Statute to 112, the ICC said in a statement on Wednesday.
The ICC took office in 2002 in The Hague and is the first permanent international criminal tribunal to try perpetrators of crimes against humanity, war crimes and genocide.
