More about:

Rwandan opposition parties on Thursday called for an independent international investigation into the murder of one of their senior members this week.

"The permanent consultative council of opposition parties in Rwanda (PCC) calls for an independent international investigation on the assassination of the opposition key figure Mr Andre Kagwa Rwisereka," said a statement by three opposition groups.

Rwisereka's body was found on Wednesday dumped by a river in the south of the country after he had been missing for a day.
