New images of Mladic on Bosnian TV

Published on 11 June 2009 - 1:57pm
More about:

Wanted war criminal Ratko Mladic has appeared on television in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The footage is reported to be recent but the Serbian authorities deny this.

The former Bosnian Serb army chief has succeeded in evading the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia since 1995. The Tribunal in The Hague wants to try Mladic for genocide in the Muslim enclave Srebrenica.

A second key figure in that tragedy, Radovan Karadzic, was arrested last year in Belgrade where he had adopted a false identity.
