Jamaica’s Bolt sets new 100 metres record

At the 2009 World Championships in Athletics in the German capital Berlin, Jamaica’s Usain Bolt has set a new world record in the 100 metres.

He ran the distance in 9.58 seconds, 0.11 seconds faster than his own world record of 9.69 seconds at last years Olympic Games in Beijing.

The Silver medal went to the United States’ Tyson Gay, and the Bronze to Bolt’s countryman Asafa Powell.
