Israeli troops kill six Palestinians

Published on 26 December 2009 - 1:08pm
More about:

In two separate incidents on Saturday, Israeli troops have killed six Palestinians.

Israeli soldiers shot dead three people in the West Bank city of Nablus. Israeli military authorities said the three had killed an Israeli man on Thursday. One of the dead men, Anan Subuh, was a member of the al-Aqsa Martyr's Brigade, the armed wing of Fatah. Fatah is the party headed by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

Three other Palestinians were killed by an air force unit after ground troops spotted them approaching the fence separating Israel from the Gaza Strip. An Israeli military spokesman said the men appeared to be carrying out an attack. Medics and border guards of the Islamist Hamas movement, which controls Gaza, said the three men were civilians scavenging for scrap metal.

The deaths come on the eve of the commemoration of the 2008 Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip. At least 1400 Palestinians and 13 Israelis were killed when Israel invaded the strip a year ago, in a bid to put an end to rocket attacks by Hamas.

How about 12, unless they were damaged. { The terrorists are striking at Israel because they know a deal with Israel is in progress for Shalit's release. They don't want to release him and they want to perpetuate their hatred. There never will be any peace. Israel is foolish to believe they can have peace with men who treat their own wives like chattel.
