More about:

Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic will go on trial for genocide and war crimes on 26 October, the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) said Thursday.

The court "hereby orders that the trial shall commence on Monday 26 October 2009 at 9:00am," said a statement from presiding judge O-Gon Kwon.

The trial in The Hague which is expected to last two years was due to start 19 October but was put back by an appeals court which also threw out a motion by Karadzic for a delay of several months.
