ICTR: The transfer trade is engaged

Published on : 19 November 2007 - 12:00am | By International Justice Tribune
More about:

The ICTR confirms having sent the information on Wenceslas Munyeshyaka and Laurent Bucyibaruta to the French courts, the Hirondelle agency reported on November 15. To act on the August 13 arrest warrants issued by the ICTR, the preliminary investigating chamber of the Paris appeals court had asked Arusha to provide it with details on the status of the transfer procedure of these cases to France. On October 10, the ICTR chamber tasked with ruling on these transfers had given French authorities two weeks to reply to a series of questions on the conditions under which a trial could take place in France. Since then, it has not made its decision.
