Two Dutch teenage brothers, both classical pianists have signed their first contract with the renowned record label Deutsche Grammophon. On their first CD, Arthur Jussen, 13, and his brother Lucas, 17, will play works by Beethoven.
The brothers, who live in Hilversum, are the first Dutch musicians to sign a recording contract with the famed label. Aged 13, Arthur is the youngest ever performer to make a recording for Deutsche Grammophon, which was founded in 1898.
Past celebrities contracted by the label included German conductor Herbert von Karajan and American conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein. Tenor Plácido Domingo and soprano Anna Netrebko are among the label's current stars.
