Dutch navy stops pirate ship

Published on 22 August 2009 - 8:35pm
More about:

A Dutch naval helicopter from the warship Harer Majesteits Evertsen forced a ship of pirates to stop in the Gulf of Aden by firing warning shots. The frigate plays a leading role in the European Union mission against piracy in the Gulf of Aden.

Sailors from a Norwegian frigate then boarded the ship, where they seized weapons and fuel. The pirates were not arrested because they were not caught red-handed and could not be brought to justice.
