Dubai police now suspect 26 of Hamas murder

Published on 24 February 2010 - 6:39pm
More about:

Police in Dubai say they are now looking for a further 15 suspects in the recent murder of Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Mabhouh. The 15, say Dubai police, used British, Irish, Australian and French passports.

Shortly after the murder, which took place in a luxury hotel in Dubai in January, the authorities announced they were looking for 11 suspects, all of whom had been in possession of passports from European countries.

The Dubai police say they are almost 100 percent certain that the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad was behind the murder of Mr Al-Mabhouh. They say they have evidence of Mossad's involvement, including telephone taps. Israel says there is no evidence it was involved in the murder.
