Published on 26 September 2009 - 10:28am
More about:

Two bombings in Pakistan have caused carnage and massive damage.

A car bomb in the Pakistani city of Peshawar killed at least 10 people and injured more than 10. The bomb went off in a busy part of the city near an important military base.

Several hours earlier, a Taliban suicide bomber crashed a truck packed with explosives into a police station in the town of Bannu, in the troubled region of North Waziristan. At least five people were killed and scores injured. In a statement, the Taliban said the attack was in retaliation for the killing of one of its leaders. The station and nearby houses were destroyed.
