China said on Tuesday that a possible meeting between US President Barack Obama and the Dalai Lama would undermine trust between the two countries and would be "unreasonable".
Zhu Weiqun, a Chinese Communist Party official responsible for ethnic and religious affairs, told a news conference that his government would vehemently oppose any such meeting.
