Chile's new President Sebastián Piñera says it will cost some 22 billion euros to rebuild the nation after last month's devastating quake.
A day after being sworn in as the country's new leader, Mr Piñera said his country could pay for most of the reconstruction costs, but would also call for help from other countries. President Piñera, a conservative businessman, replaces center-left leader Michelle Bachelet.
Immediately after his installation, the new president signed a law regulating food distribution among the quake's victims. The distribution is to start before the end of the month.
