In Bulgaria, exit polls are suggesting that victory in Sunday's parliamentary elections has gone to the centre right opposition.
The polls give the Citizens for the European Development of Bulgaria party 40 percent of the votes, against the governing socialist party's 17 percent.
The central themes of the election were the country's recession and its struggle against corruption. Bulgaria is the EU's poorest country and corruption, which the EU says the current government does too little to combat, is rife. A number of EU subsidies have been frozen as a result.
