At least 38 people have been killed in a fire at a drug rehabilitation clinic in Kazakhstan. Around 40 patients and staff were rescued.
The incident occurred in the town of Taldykorgan, near the capital Alma Ata. Kazakhstan has a relatively high number of rehabilitation clinics because the country is a transit point for the smuggling of Afghan heroin.
