WWII is a big sore spot for the Dutch nation. It's outrageous that, after almost 70 years, Wilders wants to open up this scar on the Dutch people and inflict pain on them. The pain of WWII in Europe is supposed to be in the past and should have been left in the past. What’s next? This same demand against Germany, Italy – the opening up of more scars and creating more divisions.

Wilders, like Fortuyn before him, hates his own nation and is tearing down his own country. There is very little pro-Dutch in Geert Wilders. After the nonsense of the Queen wearing a headscarf in a mosque, Wilders attacks the very symbols of Dutch national identity in the House of Orange – using phony “women’s rights” arguments.

Geert Wilders clearly doesn't represent the Dutch of the war years. The Jews were not the only ones to suffer in the war. The people who helped the Jews during the war deserve respect, but an apology is ridiculous. What was the Queen supposed to do? My Grandfather, a Canadian soldier, married my Grandmother in Groningen-1945. I know enough to call Mr. Wilder's idea BS. The war is over.

For once I agree with Geert Wilders. What the Dutch government, including bureaucrats, politicians, and police did during World War II was reprehensible. Also, the level of collaboration was extremely high, this in opposition to the popular image of The Netherlands. The problem is that none of the three groups mentioned - including Wilders - seem to have learned anything since that time. They still are violating human rights and carrying out racist, discriminatory policies that kill people. Witness the entire asylum seeker debacle in The Netherlands and the incursions on human rights that are now enshrined in Dutch and European law. It is reprehensible. Jews, and all other groups killed during the Second World War, and those being discriminated against now, deserve apologies.

Good day. Having read this article, and the inexplicable demands of Geert Wilders for the Netherlands to kowtow to the Jewish community for some delusional sense that the Netherlands did nothing to protect its Jewish citizens during NAZI occupation, I am left dumbfounded. Far from being a royalist, I do not believe the Dutch royal family bears any responsibility for what occurred to its citizens during NAZI occupation. To assert such things is just another one of Geert Wilders' heinous attempts at spouting revisionist history to placate continental Zionists and to stir up a base of support. I am a grandchild of Dutch immigrants, and although they came to the United States prior to the NAZI occupation, I know of stories that extoll the bravery and risk taking that the Dutch public demonstrated in protecting its Jewish citizens as best as they could. To assert that the government of the Netherlands could have done more during a military occupation is just madness. But then again, Geert Wilders is the personification of madness. How this Dutch anathema rose to any height of power within the Dutch government is beyond me. He bends the truth to suit his propaganda. He is the fascist whom he desires to denegrate. He projects his fascism onto others while trying to assume angelic motivations.

Wilders might be right on point. However, there were Dutch people who helped out the Jews as much as they could.
