Untold tales for World Press Freedom Day

Published on : 3 May 2012 - 11:24am | By Alejandro Pintamalli (Screenshot: RNW)
More about:

Around the world, journalists and activists are doing their best to bring important stories to our attention. Stories that others are doing their utmost to keep covered up. To mark World Press Freedom Day, Free Press Unlimited is organising a conference in Amsterdam.

RNW is taking part in the conference. RNW recorded the untold stories of various journalists from Mexico and Central America, both on video and radio. One of the videos is about Iván Olivares, a reporter from Nicaragua. He was stabbed by President Daniel Ortega’s supporters while he was covering an anti-government demonstration.
