Soestdijk Palace was once the main residence of the Dutch Royal family, when Queen Beatrix's mother Juliana was on the throne. But for years now the building has been standing empty and unused.

There is a proposal to make the palace into the Nation History Musuem, but is this plan feasible given the massive renovations that would be necessary at a time of major cuts to government funding for the arts?
