The Dutch authorities have begun to re-introduce checks in the border regions to prevent illegal aliens from entering the country. Dutch military police are stopping cars and lorries in a zone up to 20 kilometres from the border. They're also using a special sniffer dog to detect illegal aliens.
Critics argue that these border checks violate the spirit of the Schengen Treaty which allows for the free flow of people within the 25 Schengen nations. But the Dutch authorities say the border checks are quite different from passport controls at the actual border.
In the past month, Dutch military police discovered seven cases of people smuggling and 111 illegal aliens were detained. In 2010, they found over 3,000 illegal aliens in the border regions. The right-wing populist Freedom Party is calling for the Netherlands to follow the example of Denmark. Two weeks ago it was the first Schengen country to re-introduce passport controls.

The checking would be making in the peripheral EU borders, so would be doing more efective. Not inside borders.
Are you OK with me?
"We are all Europe or not, that's the question?"....If one is an European, why does one need to hide inside or under transport vehicles? Are you sure these people are Europeans or illegal immigrants?
