This weekend, the eastern city of Nijmegen hosted one of the Netherlands' top world music festivals, Music Meeting 2011, with musicians from all over the world, including India.
The line-up included India's Desert Slide, which is Vishwa Mohan Bhatt's latest musical venture. He is accompanied by gypsy musicians from the Thar region, with an exciting and award-winning musical mix as a result.
Vishwa Mohan Bhatt is an experienced musician, having worked with Ravi Shankar, Ry Cooder (with whom he won a Grammy Award in 1994), Bela Fleck and many others.

A friend recommended me Desert Slide some time ago and I really enjoy their music. I have always held an interest in Indian music, especially with it's influence on Western music, with bands like Kula Shaker and artists like George Harrison from The Beatles.
