Abdullah al-Mansouri (1945) was a professional soldier in Iran, but he deserted during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s. He took refuge in Maastricht in the Netherlands and became a Dutch citizen.
Al-Mansouri is the chairman of the Ahwaz Liberation Organisation (ALO). Ahwazi Arabs are a discriminated ethnic minority in Iran. ALO is a global alliance fighting for the establishment of an independent state for Arabs in the al-Ahwaz region.

Al-Mansouri was arrested during a visit to Syria in May 2006. He was extradited to Iran five days later.
It was feared that he would be tortured and might even face execution. A delegation from the Dutch Foreign Minister managed to speak to him briefly. Later, he was sentenced behind closed doors to 30 years in prison. It is still unclear where he is being held.
"We want to see al-Mansouri!"
His son Adnan has enlisted the support of the media. His slogan is: “We want to see al-Mansouri!”. He is also trying to raise awareness about his father’s fate to increase political pressure for his release.
Adnan is being supported by people in Maastricht, where his father was active in local community life.

Dear Adnan, ik ben een heuse Hollandse kaaskop, for you information. Your accusations are laughable. Yes, the website of the non-existent Democratic Republic of Al-Ahwaz was indeed publishing facts of the Iranian violence, namely the proud ALO members constructing bombs and detonating them. As you yourself admitted on Dutch television. Of course Iran is a nasty and surpressing regime, but terrorism dear Adnan, and the slaughter of innocent civilians, is not the answer. Neither was assisting Saddam Hussein, exactly the reason why the Iranian Arabs are not very popular in Iran (also not with the people). And may I remind you of the fact that when you are assisting the (Dutch) Bomb Iran Lobby (for instance the Iran Comité, and lunatics like Van Baalen en Boekestein), you will also have blood on your hands, when they have their way.

Ahwazi Arabs were the first cowardly traitors to welcome Saddam Husseins army into Iran in the Iran/Iraq war. As as a result millions of brave Iranians including young children and women fought the eveil Iraqi invader sometimes without weopons, just by uding their bodies to block land mines. The same video's were proudly on mister al-Mansouri's ALO website, but got removed when son Adnan, who spreads the most unbelievable lies, found that the Dutch Bomb Iran Lobby wanted to help him.
Now I suppose Saddam Hussein was also a "political prisoner"? Then where were the candle burning politicians pleading for a fair trial?
