The European Commission has awarded cheeses from Gouda and Edam protected status. In the future, only cheeses made in the Netherlands using milk produced in the Netherlands will be allowed to carry a quality seal indicating it is either Edam or Gouda cheese.
The European Commission has awarded both of the cheesemaking cities a Protected Geographical Indication.

I would like to cooperate with your manager
Where does this leave the very tasty Leyden cheeses? wish Costco would sell Leyden cheese as well as the tasty Gouda., please
The European Commission has decided that Gouda Holland and Edam Holland will be protected, but that other countries will still be able to produce Gouda and Edam - without the world Holland.
I cannot live without my Gouda!
