Casper Meijer reviews three new gadgets. An internet radio which only needs a plug and (wireless) internet to be able to listen to the whole world at the kitchen table. There is also an application for the iPhone, to watch live streaming videos without having to convert them. And a GPS system for ramblers, which makes getting lost a thing of the past, but you still have to watch out for inquisitive cows...
The gadgets reviewed in this edition of Gadgets are the internet radio from Lenco IR-2100 B, on sale from 120 euros. Then there is the navigation system Satmap Active 10 Plus, which costs 399.95 euros and finally the application Air Video for the iPhone: 2.35 euros.

I spent some time in Nederland a few years ago. I traveled around on one of my custom bikes (I am a fietsenmaker) and made use of a pocket PC with GPS maps for general location and direction finding but spent most of my time just looking at the maps on tram stops when in the towns. I too do not think a GPS is really needed for navigating your beautiful country as I find sign posts and talking to locals the best way to discover new places but the GPS was usefull sometimes as it was nice to have a track log of my travels. Next time I return I will be using a more modern handheld GPS but not for general navigation. I will be using it to find Geocaches! This is a wonderful sport that has been going for 10 years now and I seldom leave home without the GPS even in the area I know well (Dorset, South coast of England) as there are caches hidden everywhere! I look forward to geocaching in Nederland with my family next time I return and discovering many more lovely places.
For Piet's sake...what has happened to the Nederlander's sense of adventure !!! You cannot even go for a walk without a gadget ?
I have lived in Nederland & do not think it is possible to "get lost " in such a small & crowded country .
