More about:

Trumpet player Kyteman is being granted carte blanche at Northsea Jazz 2011. Colin Benders, a.k.a. Kyteman, is "currently the most discussed Dutch artist on the intersection of jazz and pop music," according to the festival organisers.

The festival is known to jazz fans all over the world for its wide-ranging programming. This year artists like Prince, Snoop Dogg and B.B. King be will appearing.

Colin Benders' breakthrough came with his Kyteman's Hiphop Orchestra, a kind of laboratory for musicians of all kinds of backgrounds. He'll perform three times at this weekend's Northsea Jazz in Rotterdam, each time joined by different musicians. Every day is improvising day since, for Kyteman, everything centres around musical freedom.
