Green energy powers Palestinian village

Published on : 16 June 2010 - 10:47am | By VJ Movement (Photo: VJ Movement)
More about:

For four hours at a time, the Palestinian women used to swing sacks of yoghurt to make soft cheese, the only source of income in their West Bank village. Since the coming of a wind turbine, they’ve had green energy. And a blender does the job in no time.

The village had been without electricity since 1967. Then with the help of Israeli environmental activists, the villagers installed their wind turbine. From one day to the next, they suddenly had light, internet and power.
