Fat kids, you see them more and more often in the Netherlands. In some neighborhoods, as many as half of the children are obese. Are parents responsible for combating the obesity? The school? Or is it up to the government?
Schools say it's up to city councils, cities look to the national government, the government points to the parents and the parents look back at the schools. In short, nobody wants to take responsibility.
But nine schools in Amsterdam have taken it upon themselves to provide healthy lunches (Dutch students usually bring their own sandwiches to school). One of these schools is the Professor Einstein School in Amsterdam-Slotervaart, where 42 percent of children are overweight.

This is what happens when there is too much welfare & hand-outs. The women sit around & have kids & collect...why should they do more ? ...you will give it to them for nothing. Their men don't get fat...they go out to work... the women & the kids eat & enjoy getting things they never had in the countries they came from. These are not the Dutch I recall . ...None of them were fat.
That's a great initiative, as children obey only their teachers..
