The Ferrari Exclusive FXX is a boy’s dream on wheels. It has made other automobile manufacturers stand up and take notice. Now Mercedes and Porsche are planning to develop their own peddle go-karts.
The peddle go-kart is a typical Dutch product. The child’s toy is said to have originally been invented in the Veluwe – a region with many forests and a popular tourist destination – as a means of transport for tourists.
The market leader, Berg Toys in Ede, is known for its blue limonite peddle go-kart with red wheels. Berg Toys’ best-selling model – the Ferrari FXX Exclusive – is now distributed worldwide. The model has a price tag of nearly 1,500 euros and sells particularly well in Germany, Russia, Japan and China.
The bright-red Ferrari FXX has light metal rims with extremely smooth tyres, aerodynamic spoilers, a leather sports wheel, no less than seven gear-changes, disc brakes and an onboard computer. Berg Toys says the model is suited for race-car drivers from five to 99 years of age.
Berg Toys’ managing director Leopold van Os says the super-de-luxe peddle go-kart has turned his company into a household name. “The Ferrari peddle go-kart has received a lot of attention, and this has not gone unnoticed.” Van Os says that slowly the roles have been reversed. “We no longer approach other car makers. They come to us.”

I am surprised to hear Ferrari builds such successful toy cars, i had no idea about this! I think it's a bit funny, when i hear about this brand usually i would think about their famous sport cars, not about so small cars. I wonder if i could find one of these cars for sale Philadelphia, my son would love one.
