Queen Beatrix will officially open Amsterdam's new EYE Film Institute on Wednesday evening. It's located opposite Central Station and offers a spectacular view across the IJ River.
Construction work on the new institute began three years ago. The futuristic building, which has been nicknamed the "white shell", is an ode to film, says the EYE director, Sandra den Hamer.
The EYE Film Institute houses four cinemas and an exhibition space. It plans to organise four major exhibitions annually and hopes to attract 225,000 visitors a year.

I visited this magnificent space in May 2012 and tried to buy an item with cash but could not. I will be back in October. Will cash be accepted at that time or can I use an American Visa charge card? Thank You
