Escort services fuelling human trafficking

Published on : 13 January 2011 - 10:14am | By Eric Beauchemin (Photo: Nieuwsuur)
More about:

Dutch police have launched a new campaign to try to stamp out illegal prostitution. More and more women have begun to work as escorts and prostitutes without a permit in flats and roadside hotels, since the legalisation of prostitution in Holland a decade ago. Many of these women have been trafficked and are being exploited.

According to the public prosecutor's office, "these women are being beaten. They are forced to sit in ice cold water to hide their bruises. Grenades have been thrown in their family's garden. They have to undergo forced abortions. So this really is exploitation."

But I also respect and admire men who respect women and refuse such services..It is only due to these men that our world is a bit safe place to venture freely..

Will there be a day when men will start respecting women as individuals and let them live their life respectfully without exploiting their poverty, and stop treating them as disposable objects?
