Despite temperatures holding up - according to the official statistics, that is - many a cafe and restaurant operator along the Dutch coast has been complaining about the poor summer season of 2010. The truly busy parts of late July and most of August were, indeed, more than a little 'moist' this year.

It still surprise me that with the current low costs airlines people prefer to spend the weekend in the Netherlands than in a South European beach.
