Dutch pets are too fat

Published on : 4 August 2010 - 3:09pm | By Saskia van Reenen (Photo: RNW)
More about:

Over half of all Dutch pets are overweight - they get too many treats from their owners and don't get enough exercise. Obese pets live shorter lives and suffer with joint problems or from heart conditions. But help is at hand: vets can offer guidance on how cats and dogs can shed that weight.

Fat cat
Bob van Heeks loves to pamper his cat Kitty with treats - the tomcat is crazy about quark and cheese. He also gets cat sweets, which Bob brings back with him from trips abroad. All these snacks in between meals mean that Kitty has gained a great deal of weight. So, Bob and Kitty are now receiving treatment from a dietician at an Amsterdam vet's. Over the past 18 months the cat has lost 1.5 kilos. But recently the pointer on the scales has hardly moved.

According to the dietician, cats that don't go outside often get fat. So they advise pet owners to encourage them to play more. A laser light or a ball filled with dried cat food can help in these cases.

Begging
People often find it hard to resist begging from their cat or dog. But the fact that overweight animals succumb to diabetes and liver disorders earlier than others should make it easier.

Bob van Heeks is a little embarrassed about his obese cat. He worries that his cat is overweight, while there are people starving in the world. When he tells his friends that Kitty has been to a dietician they laugh at him. These days, Bob is trying harder to give his cat less treats. But the struggle with the kilograms is not yet over.

RiggedScam 8 August 2010 - 8:27pm

Found Full Tilt spyware. add process in svchost.exe buffer overflow, reboot you PC 8 in 10 times
Full Tilt = Rigged Scam
Full Tilt NOT RANDOM software
Full Tilt fraud hands
I personally think full tilt is totally rigged. If I was reviewing full tilt poker, It would receive an F grade for my review. I think full tilt online poker should be shut down because they are not regulated at all to be fair. pre-determined flops that run according to how people bet. the card turns are anything but natural. 9 out of 10 times I had AA in Texas Holdem over a couple days, I lost!.. The best hands almost always lose on FTP. Even full houses get beat by damn 4 of a kinds. It?s just too fake, and if you really want to play poker.
