Gamma hydroxybutyric acid or GHB is becoming a more popular party drug in the Netherlands. GHB can easily be made at home and is as addictive as heroin. In the past two years, the demand for treatment for GHB addiction has risen by roughly 20 percent.

It scares me to think that this drug is so easily accessible. Apparently we're doomed, there's no way out of this, there's no way to lower the drug use, despite all the efforts it always grows higher. How do you treat GHB addiction? Is it anything like heroin drug treatment?

has been defined as physical and psychological dependence on psychoactive substances..such cocainne drug.etc. in that reason need a tap person.to arrist those who are using drug..because.. not only one person can influence that but million of people.. can influence all over the world.. more young people can affected of that such kind of addiction..
Addiction comes in many forms, being skinny, eating food, liquor and drugs. Remember when the Brits outlawed GIN cause they could not tax it..as it was so simple and cheap to make. This is the parallels with drugs and GHB, except both are illegal.
My thought is if you must take drugs, than cut the middle man and make it at home. Less crime, gangs and danger to society.
At the end I do not endorse taken drugs..but GHB is the lesser of the evils out there, and for me that means less crime, less resources used by governments. However it does pose a risk to health and life and for me life is the best high!

At least this is better than paying 30 to 50 Euros a shot to the CIA operated drug operations! Let’s face it Afghanistan has never produced so much drugs in the history as it is producing under NATO administration / Occupation!
Self sufficiency cuts the hands of the dealers and distributors and middlemen (i.e. CIA!)!
It is very sad that the young Dutch are falling into the GHB whirlpool. The effects produced by GHB are the effects you feel when you are in true love on the three planes of existence. The spiritual ecstasy also has the similar effect. So, what they need is true love/soulmate or spiritual guidance in meditation. And guess, there are no side effects of it. Please save your youth, and I wonder if it was wise to show how GHB is made!!!!

What for? To be send to war and get killed? Or living jobless and on handouts for the rest of your life? The prospect of life in the western world is very grim! That is why people take drugs to forget the pain of the life!
I am shocked by your reaction! No sane person would support drugs-they kill! And Anon is right, the probability of dying of drug abuse is higher than dying in a war... We need our youth, not only in our respective countries but globally-they are our future. We need to guide them, employ them, and nurture their dreams, and not bendover backwards to increase the retirement age to save the exchequer!
Please! Don't be so nihilistic. Most armies in the west are volunteer, so if you don't want to go to war, don't volunteer. Those who are willing to defend your country will make sure you're safe while you take drugs and do anything else you please. There's always some excuse to take drugs: impending doom, psychological pain, love lost, loneliness .... You'll think of something. I've been alive 76 years. I many times heard that our country was going down, but we're still here, still fighting for what's right. That's the purpose for living.
