More about:

80,000 burglaries were committed last year in the Netherlands. That's a burglary every nine minutes, and the figure is rising.

In some apartment complexes, residents are making the footage of burglaries and robberies available to everyone in the building via a closed website. Some of the residents would like to go further and publish the footage on YouTube, but that's against the law.

But now the National Association of House Owners has announced plans to publish CCTV footage of burglaries on its web site to warn not only the residents but everyone in the neighbourhood.

If you video a crime taking place, you can't post it on youtube because it violates the criminals privacy. It appears the criminals right to privacy overides the "Freedom of Expression" of which the Dutch are so proud. You the Dutch are not free. In a free society, one has a right to defend his/her property. You can't even defend your property by posting it on youtube. You aren't a free people. You are slaves to a government full of idiots who puts criminals first and you, the law abiding citizen, second. The government doesn't care about you because they know you will not stand-up for your freedoms, i.e. property and freedom of expression. Just because it is the law doesn't make it right. Everytime, those criminals buy their marijuana and hard drugs from their sell of your property, they laugh at you because they know they have the law to support their rights to privacy.
