An ordinary bike could not reach speeds of almost 130 kilometres per hour. But a bicycle designed and built by students at the Technical University of Delft can.
TU Delft student Sebastiaan Bowier recently set a European and a student record with a speed of 129,62 kilometres per hour.
But he did not break the world record during a nine-day trial in a desert in the US state of Nevada. Canadian Sam Whittingham still holds the world record for the fastest cyclist on earth with a speed of over 133 kilometre per hour.
