I remember, as a child, pharmacys that would 'mix' up a variety of medicines from ingredients they kept on hand. The doctor more than once gave my mother a Rx for "coke syrup" to settle a sick stomach, and we got it at the local pharmacy where they 'mixed' it behind the counter.
This was during the time that you could visit a "soda shop" and they made drinks up from 'syrup' and carbonated water using a little hand pump.
Yes, I know... I'm older than dirt. /shrug
Soft drinks in general are terrible and unhealthy.
