Change to Dutch naturalisation law proposed

Published on : 3 January 2012 - 3:31pm | By Davion Ford (Photo: Nieuwsuur)
More about:

All Dutch citizens enjoy equal treatment under the law, whether they were born Dutch or became a naturalised citizen later in life. But the coalition government would like to change the law so that newly naturalised citizens could lose their citizenship if they commit a serious crime.

Unfortunately there are no heavenly countries in this world. No paradise to be found here.

WOW..I applaud the Netherlands!! Finally, some standards to force people who get to be permanent guests in your country, to be on their best behavior. Reallly, why not have 2 forms of naturalization. In america you can just show up pregnant and go into labor on US soil and poof...the baby is a citizen even though his parent has BROKEN into the country...for them a 2nd class naturalization should be the only form offered.. With all these peoples flooding into developed and civilized countries with LAWS...why NOT have then abide by some laws from the sart?!!

Bad law for sure. All citizens should be treated equally under the law.
