Another American woman disappears in Aruba

Published on : 25 August 2011 - 3:23pm | By Lisette Wellens (Screenshot: RNW)
More about:

"One happy island" is the slogan Aruba uses to promote itself to the mainly American tourists who visit. But are tourists still as happy about their holiday destination following the disappearance of another young American woman?

Following the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in 2005, there was a major drop in tourism from the United States. Visitor figures had been increasing since in 2008, but this could be threatened by the disappearance earlier this month of Robyn Gardner.

What do Arubans think of the fact that their island is again being dragged through the mud by the US media?
