To mark what would have been Anne Frank’s 80th birthday, Dutch public broadcaster NOS has released a short animated film based on a number of photographs taken in 1935. Anne was six years old at the time. In it, she's described as "a cute little girl".
In the spring of 1945, Anne Frank died at the age of 15 in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp just weeks before the camp was liberated. Her diary was first published in 1947 and has since become one of the most widely read books in the world. It documents Anne's experiences while hiding during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II.
