In August, Amsterdam became the first city in the world to boast a separate information office for gay tourists. Since then, another has been opened in London.
The initiator of the Amsterdam project, Hans Verhoeven, argues that this gay tourist office has added value. Homosexual tourists have no idea where the cool gay bars are, and directions to the Homo Monument - near the church Westerkerk and the Anne Frank House - come in handy as well.
Insiders say Hans Verhoeven has ensured that the city of Amsterdam can once again deliver on its reputation as gay capital of Europe.

There are some great hotels right next to a variety of gay clubs. I had a lot of fun there last year and hope to go again next year. I think it's great that they are doing more to encourage the gay community instead of shunning it like the rest of the world.
American Airlines has a dedicated gay team that provides information, deals, and other features to the LGBT community. As far as I can tell they are the first major airline to reach out to the LGBT community to that extent. Might want to check them out when planning your next trip.
