Since the mid 1990s, Afghans have been fleeing war and the Taliban and coming to the Netherlands. There are currently over 40,000 Afghans living in Holland.
They are one of the largest groups of new immigrants in this country. They have settled in all the main Dutch cities, including Utrecht.
Shafiqie Shafiqullah fled to the Netherlands nearly a decade ago. He now speaks fluent Dutch and is studying at university. He's also involved in the reconstruction of his homeland.
