Karzai hosts meeting on talking with the Taliban
Afghan President Hamid Karzai is hosting a three-day meeting with more than 1,500 local leaders to discuss how his government will attempt to start a dialogue with the Taliban. But suicide bombers targetted the 'jirga' just hours after it started and analyst Thomas Ruttig says it's unlikely to achieve its objective

Dutch (ethnic) professionals make their mark
Forget the yuppie - a new type of young professional has emerged in the Netherlands, and it's calling itself the yeppie. The phrase was coined by Dutch author Arjan Erke, who says second-generation immigrants are no longer stuck at the bottom of the economic ladder.
