Aung San Suu Kyi to be released, Minister says
Myanmar's pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi will be freed in November, according to the Home Minister, as quoted by a number of witnesses. Suu Kyi has been detained on and off for most of the past 20 years, and is currently serving out an 18 month house-arrest sentence. But Mark Farmener, director of The Burma Campaign UK, tells Newsline's Davion Ford he's not convinced by today's announcement.

Author says integration in the Netherlands a success
The increasing popularity of European anti-Islam movements such as Geert Wilders' Freedom Party is partly attributable to the belief that Muslims have failed to integrate into western societies. But a book published today argues that Dutch integration efforts have actually worked. Frans Verhagen, author of "Hoezo mislukt?" or "What do you mean, a failure?" told Newsline's Davion Ford that the integration discussion has become too narrow.

Freezing temperatures in New Delhi threatens the homeless
It's not only Europe that's been hit by unusually cold weather over the past weeks - northern India has also been gripped by freezing cold. The consequences have been fatal for some of the many who are homeless in New Delhi. From New Delhi, Murali Krishnan reports.
