HEAR THE WORLD "Warm-blooded mestizo sounds from the group Che Sudaka, Latin-American musicians from the Spanish city of Barcelona playing live at the Mundial Festival in Tilburg. We’ll be playing highlights from this concert later in the programme.

This is Hear the World, Radio Netherlands’ music programme with live highlights from Dutch world music podia. I’m Dheera Sujan.

We start with the Taiwa Jazz Band, a group of six young musicians from Johannesburg. They play South African music mixed with jazz. The band plays its own compositions as well as covers of well-known jazz numbers. The Taiwa Jazz Band played at the 2010 Mundial Festival in Tilburg and here are two numbers, first their own composition On being an African followed by a famous piece by Herbie Hancock, Cantelope Island."
