LIVE AT THE CONCERTGEBOUW ‘…This is Richard Strauss’ dance of the young girl Salomé, who takes us back to biblical times in ancient Palestine. There is an even older biblical story told in music: the Israelite hero Samson who falls in love with the Philistine beauty Delilah. Further on we hear the ‘Egyptian’ piano concerto by Camille Saint-Saëns and a mythical Greek tale by César Franck.
