LIVE AT THE CONCERTGEBOUW “…The Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninov quoted the Italian master Niccolò Paganini. Rachmaninov composed a wonderful new piece of music, based on an old theme. It is just one example of an important feature in not only music, it can also be found in painting or in architecture: learned from the past, quote or even copy the old masters and by doing this, discover your own voice.” [RNW-host Hans Haffmans]
