Any system of religion that shocks the consciousness and the mind of a child cannot be a true system.

Thursday evening: flight w Al-Italia charter flight (Shepherd One) from Edinburgh to London Heathrow,
driven to Nunciature in Wimbldeon ;
Incidentally, Princes Street in Ediburgh was lined by 125,000 people !
Church of Scotland (Scottish Reformed)
& Anglican Church leaders met him in Edinburgh,
too,wanting more inter-Christian partnerships !
Scots & Northern English people are blunt but polite in their language !

Friday evening: Inter-Christian Vespers,
& driven directly afterwards back to Nunciature in Govt-issue BMW ;

Saturday evening: Vespers in London,
& driven directly afterwards back to Nunciature in ovt-issue BMW ;
This was broadcast on both Beeb TV & Radio 4 !

Sunday evening: flew back from Birmingham International
to Ciampino Airport on Al-italia charter (Shepherd One) ;

All these were broadcast on Beeb & possibly on ITV !

So that concludes answer to Hiram2:
visit f the evening to Judy Garland Musical w a prelate was simply not on itinerary during the visit ;
he was accompanied by Police in the streets ! He had a clean weekend !
I am sure that, by Dutch standards of Dutch morality, it was quite acceptable !

But if one disagrees at theological levels, it would be better to use one's reasoning !

On Friday evening Pope Benedict xvi & the Anglican Primate jointly presided at an inter-Christian service of Vespers in St Peter's Abbey Westminster, London, with Anglican, Catholic & Orthodox Bishops
& other church representatives.

Pope Benedict xvi was greeted by 200,000 well-wishers along the Mall in St James's, London
on the way in his Popemobile to a Vigil Service in Hyde Park!
On Constitution Place there was there a demonstration by 20 radical Moslems, with placards,
including one saying "Jesus is a Moslem !" & another saying "Jesus hates the Pope !".
80,000 people were seated within the perimeter with 15,000 people waiting outside it.

A counter-demonstration by an umbrella group of 15,000 people representing a variety of issues
marched to Trafalgar Square & to the entrance to Downing Street.

Meanwhile, 5 suspicious Algerian cleaners were arrested & taken f questioning in Paddington,
but were later released.

Are you sure those people with the placards were Moslems? They are far from being the only people who find the choice of Ratzinger as Pope of the Catholic Church rather disturbing.

The great religious art of the world is deeply involved with the female principle. That's why the Pope might be wearing a female garment.

Hiram2 19 September 2010 - 10:07pm

"The great religious art of the world is deeply involved with the female principle." What are the attributes that define the "female prinicple"? I don't think we need the negative attributes because there are far too many of them to post. Can you give just "one" positive attribute? I know it will be a challenge but give it a try.

Anonymous 20 September 2010 - 3:58pm / lalaland

Read "Civilization" by Sir Kenneth Clark, about the female principle in religious art.

The pope is easy to pick out. He is the one in the wedding dress.

Robert1856 20 September 2010 - 5:16am / LONDON, GB

Are white cassocks white wedding dresses ? They derive from Cistercian & Dominican cassocks.

Hiram2 18 September 2010 - 11:12pm

"The pope is easy to pick out. He is the one in the wedding dress."....Are you jealous of him and his dress? He does look like he has been out for the evening. Maybe, he was watching a Judy Garland music with a Cardinal or a Bishop!
