Pakistan rocked by fresh attacks
Pakistani militants launched a new string of attacks on Thursday, killing more than 20 people. Violence has escalated over the past two weeks. According to RNW's correspondent Rashid Rehman in Lahore, the militants are using different tactics this time.

Bulgarian Irina Bukova is the new head of Unesco, UN's educational, scientific and cultural organisation. She encourages dialogue between different faiths, but doesn't hesitate to speak out on what is a controversial issue surrounding Muslim women: the burka.
A Dutch cocaine factory in the early 1900s - and it was legal
Dutch author Conny Braam discovered that the Netherlands had an enormous cocaine factory at the beginning of the last century. This was remarkable for two reasons. One, it was completely legal and two, it was selling cocaine and other drugs to soldiers from all sides during World War I.
